The Hiera De MeterBlessed Daughters of Mother EarthDiscover the Path at Hestia's Hearth is a Goddess Ministry. We facilitate learning of Goddess information and material by providing:
As Discover the Path at Hestia's Hearth, continues to develop programs and skills that provide support to our members and contributors, we continue to look inwards to realize and strengthen our own ministry. Hestia (Vesta- Roman) remains our patron Goddess. Her light and warmth is our inspiration in all things visible and invisible. Yet, the timeless story of Demeter and her daughter Persephone-Kore has rich symbolism that enables the development of internal stepping stones on the path of the eternal feminine evolutionary journey. In the following much simplified version, Persephone, leaves home, travels away from her mother's care and support then finds opportunity for a unique role in her new surroundings. She falls deeply in love but must strike a balance that enables her to be a caring daughter, a loving companion and compassionate worker in her chosen vocation/role. As women, in our youth, we try every day to combine two or more of those attributes. For mature matriarch and crones like Demeter/Ceres, we see our lives change when our children move forward and leave us both physically and mentally. For women who have not given birth to a child, the concept of birthing any creative project that has been nurtured and developed from its inception may hold the same emotional ties. When our children or projects become self sustaining we lose something of the focus of our raison d'etre. For a time we may mourn, and even retreat from the world, but the feminine spirit will not be held hostage without rising physically or symbolically from the ashes of our discontent. In time, Demeter was able to come to terms with the change in her daughter and went on to leave our historical consiousness with so much more. Discover the path at Hestia's Hearth uses the story of Demeter and Persephone to illustrate our goals and objectives. We have chosen, after much thought, the following designations for women who have completed Self Reflecting Path of Feminine Spirituality and participated in our dedication service. Ordained Minister/Non Denominational MinisterWhile these titles are appropriate and may be used interchangeably, we have chosen words more in keeping with our mandated promise. In ancient Greece, as the mysteries of Demeter were played out in annual ceremonies, the celebrants were seen as Priestesses of Demeter or Hiera Demeter. Hiera means Holy One Or Blessed One and Demeter means of the mother. Through The Self Reflecting Path of Feminine Spiritual Reclamation, you will come to recognize yourself as a Daughter of Mother Earth and know how blessed and privileged you are to be so designated. In the leadership role within the Goddess ministry, the guiding principles of the Ministry are entrusted to your nurturing care so that you may in turn teach the lessons of the maiden, mother and crone to the blessed Daughters that will surely follow you.
